After earning a B.A. and graduating with Great Distinction from McGill University in 1985,
Mr. Magonet graduated top ten from McGill's
Faculty of Law in 1989 with two law degrees, a
B.C.L. and an LL.B.

During the course of his academic career, Mr.
Magonet received a number of scholarships and awards and was recognized for his excellence in the study of civil and commercial law.

Mr. Magonet was called to the Quebec Bar in 1991 and to the Ontario Bar in 1992, after working with Phillips & Vineberg (now Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg)
and Oslers - two of the top law firms in Canada.
